Tutorial Protection System
New players (Levels 1-5) have special protections during missions:
No PvP Encounters: You cannot be matched against other players in combat
No Equipment Damage on Success: Successful missions don't degrade your gear
No Health Loss on Success: Complete missions without taking damage
Emergency Evacuation: Failed missions trigger automatic rescue with no penalties
This protection allows you to learn the game mechanics without risking your starting equipment.
Your First Steps
Visit Forge Bay: Navigate to the crafting area from the hub menu
Craft Basic Gear: Use your starting Scrap to create:
Ember Carbine (weapon, 500 Scrap)
Ashcloth Vest (armor, 300 Scrap)
Equip Your Items: Open inventory and equip your crafted gear
Go to Mission Gate: Navigate to the mission deployment area
Select Cinders: Choose the Tier 1 mission for beginners
Review Requirements: Check the lock time and claim window
Deploy: Confirm your deployment to start the mission
Wait for Unlock: The mission locks for the specified duration
Claim Rewards: Return during the claim window to collect your rewards
Understanding Mission Timers
Lock Time: How long the mission takes to complete. You cannot claim during this period.
Claim Window: After the lock period ends, you have a limited time window to claim rewards.
Expiration: If you miss the claim window, you can still claim but receive only 25% of normal rewards plus take damage penalties.
Managing Your Equipment
Visit the Forge Bay to:
Check Durability: See the condition of your equipped items
Repair Gear: You can repair items even if durability has reached 0
Craft New Items: Create better equipment as you level up
Health Management
Visit the Clinic when your health drops:
Below 50 HP: Consider healing before harder missions
At 0 HP (Downed): You must revive before deploying any mission
Revival Cost: Uses EMBER (fixed amount); no Scrap or level-based revive cost
Full Health (100 HP): Optimal for survival
Progression Tips
Start with Cinders missions to build up resources safely
Always repair equipment before it reaches 0 durability
Save EMBER tokens for important upgrades
Level up to increase reward scaling
Don't rush into harder missions without proper gear
Leveling Up
Experience points (XP) are earned from missions:
Higher Tier Missions: Grant more XP (Cinders: 250, Ash Wastes: 600, Smolder Rift: 1500)
PvP Victories: Give bonus XP (1.5x multiplier)
Level Scaling: Your level increases rewards from future missions
Mission Unlocks: Higher levels unlock access to harder content (Ash Wastes at 10, Smolder Rift at 18)
Protection ends at Level 6, where full game mechanics apply.
Understanding EMBER Rewards
EMBER uses a network-share emission system:
Daily Mission Pools: Cinders (150k), Ash Wastes (250k), Smolder Rift (400k)
Network Share: Pool ÷ Active participants at claim time
Minimum Guarantee: Always receive your full base reward (never less!)
Strategic Timing: Off-peak hours may yield larger shares above your base
During tutorial protection (Levels 1-5), you'll earn EMBER from Cinders missions. Your actual reward depends on how many other players have claimed that mission today, but you're always guaranteed at least your full base amount (12 EMBER at levels 1-4).
